National and International Online Tuition

Finding a tutor that you have confidence in can be quite tricky, despite the large number of agencies that can initially seem enticing. These days, we also have the allure of AI which is set to change tutoring forever - right now, it still gets a lot of things wrong, but soon enough those wrinkles will be ironed out and it will be able to do a pretty good job or delivering content. But it isn't a person! There is nothing that can replace the relationship that builds between a tutor and student - and it matters not at all whether it is online or face to face. So if you are going to choose a tutor, you need to be certain that the person not only knows what they are talking about, but can also build trust and a rapport with the student. To help you decide if I am indeed the right tutor for you I offer a free initial session on a topic of your choosing.

I use a website called
Scribblar to host my online teaching, which is essentially an interactive whiteboard with the ability to upload and save resources to it. There is a private ‘room’ for each student, which can be visited between lessons and which slowly accumulates a history of all the teaching and discussions which have taken place over a series of lessons. Before every lesson I upload relevant teaching resources to the ‘room’ – usually topic notes written by me which are sometimes accompanied by material from other sources.  The face-to-face aspect of the teaching is via Zoom.

I hope that once we have spoken and you have taken your free lesson you will be reassured that I set myself very high standards for the service I offer and can help to make chemistry an enjoyable and attainable subject for you. If you would like another point of view as to how I work and what I can do, take a look at the Testimonials page of my website. I can also provide details for telephone or e-mail contact so that you can speak to a current or previous student’s family. Rest assured that I will always give you my very best - I really do want everyone to ‘get it’ and enjoy studying chemistry!

Bespoke Mini-Groups

Many tutors offer board-specific groups for anyone that wants to join, but almost inevitably the path through the specification the tutor chooses will differ from the paths different members of the group are following at their schools.

So, make it just right for you with one of my Mini-Groups! With a group of 2-3 you can share the cost of tuition and still get expert support throughout your course. We will follow the topic order that your school / college has chosen, and because of that tailoring we’ll reinforce ideas that are tricky, or add depth to concepts - at almost the same time you are meeting them at school. This approach, alongside a good development of exam technique skills, will help put you in the best place to achieve the best possible outcome in your exams.
